Memorial Day

I am a day late with this post I know but I spent yesterday with my family remembering something important.

Do you know what that important thing was or was yesterday just a day off from school or work? Do you who had the day know why? Do you remember?

Yesterday was a day of remembrance of all the brave people who fought and died for us to have the freedoms we have (that some seem to be hellbent on taking away but that is another post). It is a day to remember why we have these freedoms and to thank those who gave everything so we could.

But it just seems Memorial Day now is just an excuse to have cook out and be lazy for a day. I am not saying it is bad thing to do that but don't forget the reason you are able to do it. Think about all the people with family that died fighting for us that will never have the chance to celebrate with them again. Think about the men and women who died too early because they wanted to make the world and our home a better place. Don't just make it about hamburgers and hot dogs and sitting on the couch because you don't have anything to do.

As the spouse of a veteran who was nearly killed in the line of duty I just have really difficult time accepting that so many people forget what yesterday was about.

And if you have something against the military or veterans don't bring it here.

Just Remember
